    A printable pamphlet providing the general public with an overview of labour mobility and who to contact when they have questions.
  • A Checklist for Regulatory Authorities
    A guide for regulatory authorities outlining the principles of certifying labour mobility applicants, what they can ask of labour mobility applicants, and who to contact when they have questions.
  • Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA)
    An intergovernmental trade agreement signed by Federal, Provincial and Territorial Canadian Trade Ministers. The objective is to reduce and eliminate, to the extent possible, barriers to the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments within Canada and to establish an open, efficient and stable domestic market.
  • Canadian Free Trade Agreement – Chapter Seven
    Labour mobility provisions (Chapter 7) of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. It states that certified workers must generally be recognized as qualified to work by another province or territory’s regulatory authority for their occupation, without any requirement for additional material training, work experience, examination or assessment, unless additional material requirements have been approved by a government and publicly posted.
  • Guideline for meeting the obligations of the Labour Mobility Chapter of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement
    The guidelines for regulatory authorities and others on how to comply with the labour mobility provisions of Chapter 7 of the CFTA.

  • Forum of Labour Market Ministers (FLMM)
    Composed of federal, provincial, and territorial (FPT) ministers responsible for labour market policies and programs. It is a platform for FPT governments to work cooperatively to ensure Canada has a skilled, adaptable and inclusive workforce that supports a competitive Canadian economy.

    Provides definitions of key terms relevant to labour mobility under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.

    A national database that is administered by the Government of Canada. It provides labour market information, regulatory authority contact information and career planning resources while connecting employers and employees with employment opportunities.

A number of other interprovincial programs and agreements exist within Canada that include labour mobility provisions. Where inconsistencies exist between agreements, the agreement most favorable to labour mobility will be used.
